About Beirut's Reiki Master - Farida Abou Khizam
Farida Khizam, a Lebanese South Australian, is the founder of Reiki-of-Lebanon & the Adelaide based 'Health Spark Australia'. Farida advocates Integrative Medicine- that is- a professional combination of Natural and Modern Medical practices. Indeed, she is a SA qualified Pharmacist -as well as- a Personal & Professional Development Consultant, Reiki Master & Art Therapist. Farida has worked as a locum Pharmacist in both Australia & the Republic of Ireland. Despite fully understanding and appreciating the wonderful advances in and the applications of modern medicine, she finds that Complementary & Alternative Medical Treatments as well as personal development are very important in disease prevention & management. Afterall, it is widely believed that many illnesses have an emotional connection. As such, many complementary and alternative medical practices could help in such cases. Farida believes that no medicine that she's ever come across in the 23 years since she registered as a pharmacist, relaxes or heals the intrinsic self. She believes that the intrinsic self is highly neglected in conventional healthcare. And she believes, it is where we need to go to profoundly relax and and where natural healing could emanate. And relaxation is important to building immunity and being well -physically, mentally & spiritually. Honouring the self is not selfish but a must for well being.
Farida did TV interviews on Reiki on several Arabic TV stations such as Future TV, Dubai al Aan (Dubai Now) http://video.maktoob.com/videos/view/6547 , O-TV, Freedom TV & Al Jazeera. Regarding radio, she was twice interviewed by Hala Ibrik on 'Voice of the People'. Farida also wrote professionally for 'Moms and To Be' magazine and Beirut's daily English newspaper, 'The Daily Star'.
Her aim is to train health professionals in Reiki and Art therapy (doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, care providers etc)- so as to further incorporate Integrative Medicine into medical practice. But moreso, she aims to establish reiki, art therapy and natural stress relief as widely used skills by the general public-as they are easy to learn and have many practical health applications.
