ABC for Choosing a Practitioner in Beirut

Choosing a practitioner is one that should be done with care as no regulating body exists in Lebanon thus far. Here are some factors to consider for finding the best Reiki Master for you:

a. Are they properly qualified? Have they been taught in person? I say this because some people have gained accreditation from over the internet. Personally, I would only consider and choose someone who has been taught in person (as Japanese Reiki tradition dictates).

b. Are they a Reiki Master (Level 4) or Reiki Practitioner (Level 3)?

c. Where and how did they obtain their qualifications?

d. Can you verify their qualifications with their teachers?

e. Can they produce evidence of Reiki Lineage (who taught them)?

f. Are they knowledgeable in the areas of Health and Holistic Therapies?

g. Do they have any other Medical, Health or Social Services qualifications?

h. Do they have a good word-of -mouth reputation?

i. Do they exhibit professionalism?

j. Are they or can they be recognised by a Foreign Reiki Federation? For example, Reiki-of-Lebanon is recognised by the European Reiki Federation. As such, Reiki-of-Lebanon in-house  certificates are recognised in any European country. (see lineage section to  view ERF certificate)

k. Can the contact details of the Foreign Reiki Federation ( be supplied on request? Can the foreign federation confirm registration of the practitioner? (see lineage to view the ERF accreditation)

l. Is the practitioner passionate about what they do?

m. Does the practitioner have a broad understanding about health, psychology, Reiki, Biofields and its potential?

n. Is the practitioner mature? Do they have life experience? Are they capable of dealing with and discussing issues of a personal nature which may arise during treatment?

o- If you require a practitioner for treatment of children or adolescents under the age of 18 years, the practitioner should insist that a parent or guardian be present during treatment or refuse treatment.

p. Does the practitioner have a comfortable, equipt and quiet practice?

q. Is the practitioner respectable and polite? Do they explain that only shoes and socks, glasses, headbands, metal objects (watches, jewellery, belts etc.) need to be removed?  (Loosening restrictive clothing like jean buttons or tight collars is very acceptable).

r. Does the practitioner explain where he/she will place her hands? Does he/she explain that the breasts and genitals are not touched physically but treated by the 'hands above' technique?
